Jalapeño Unconference Code of Conduct

Jalapeño Unconference is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. We expect everyone involved in the event, including attendees, speakers, and organizers, to adhere to this Code of Conduct.

Expected Behavior

Respect: Treat all participants with kindness, respect, and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.
Inclusivity: Strive to create a welcoming environment that is inclusive and free from discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other characteristic.
Collaboration: Foster collaboration and cooperation among participants, promoting a positive and constructive atmosphere.
Professionalism: Conduct yourself in a professional manner and refrain from any form of harassment, intimidation, or disruptive behavior.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered unacceptable and will not be tolerated:

Harassment: Any form of harassment, including but not limited to verbal, physical, or visual harassment.
Discrimination: Discrimination against any individual or group based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic.
Disruption: Intentional disruption of talks, workshops, or any other event-related activities.
Unauthorized Promotion: Unauthorized promotion of products, services, or events not affiliated with Jalapeño Unconference.

Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the event organizers immediately. You can do so by:

Finding a staff member or organizer in person.

Consequences

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in appropriate actions, including but not limited to:

Verbal or written warnings.
Removal from the event without a refund.
Reporting to the appropriate authorities if necessary.

Organizers will prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants, and any decision made will be final.

Acknowledgment

By participating in Jalapeño Unconference, you agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this Code of Conduct throughout the event.
